Section 301 Investigation of Imports from Vietnam

 Dear Valued Customer,

The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has announced two new Section 301 investigations of US imports from Vietnam which could result in additional tariffs.

The scope of the first investigation focuses on Vietnam's currency valuation while the second investigation focuses on timber and will primarily impact importers of wood and wood products from Vietnam. These investigations may lead to additional tariffs being imposed.

Following the procedure of previous Section 301 investigations, the USTR is receiving public comments on these investigations through November 12, 2020.

OEC is closely monitoring the development of the investigations and will provide updates as they become available.

Should you have any questions regarding this update, please contact your Customs Brokerage representative.

Sincerely yours,

OEC Group
